Rehearsal rooms and small performance venues need lighting that can be both practical and theatrical. In this music room project, wall and ceiling coves were washed with RGB light that shifts from neutral rehearsal white to a fully immersive color show.
Design Concept
A performance space serves two very different moments – practice and showtime – so the lighting is built to switch between them:
- Rehearsal mode – even, high-CRI neutral light so sheet music, instruments and faces are clearly visible.
- Performance mode – saturated color scenes wash the wall panels and ceiling coves, turning the room into a stage with one tap.
- Safety layer – dim guide light along walkways and steps keeps movement safe when the show light is down.
Glare control matters here: every strip is recessed or coved so no light source is directly visible from the playing position.
